Dear All
We are happy to announce that Ms. Anita Nair, a Bangalore-based Internationally renowned Writer, will be attending Bangalore Book Club Meetup as part of a Special Event on July 10th, 2010.
This will be a good opportunity for fans, readers and even people who haven't read Nair, to interact with and know more about her. Kindly block the date so that you do not miss this great opportunity.
Venue and other specific information will be shared, as we get closer to the event.
A short intro of Ms. Anita Nair, as collected from online sources:Anita Nair is a popular Indian-English writer. She was born at Mundakottakurissi, near Shornur in Kerala State. She was working as the creative director of an advertising agency in Bangalore when she wrote her first book, a collection of short stories called Satyr of the Subway, which she sold to Har-Anand Press. The book won her a fellowship from the Virginia Center for Creative Arts. Her second book (The Better Man) was published by Penguin India, and was the first book by an Indian author to be published by Picador USA. Her books have been published in several languages around the world. She lives in Bangalore. Among Nair's early commercial works were pieces she penned in the late 90's for The Bangalore Monthly magazine (now called "080" Magazine), published by Explocity in a column titled 'The Economical Epicurean'. Some of her best known novels are Better Man (2000), Ladies Coupe (2001) and Mistress (2005). Her recent release, Lessons in Forgetting (2010), has received rave reviews across the country.
